CONCEPT
We created the Brand ID for the Snorkel club night, working closely with DJ Skeemekker and Brenda Conn (resident Snorkel DJs) to come up with a concept that would act as a breath of fresh air to a suffocating club scene. Bored of a scene that had started as one all emcompassing entity and gradually dissolved into genres and sub genres, with sub genres of the sub genres, they decided to make a change. Snorkel was born. The point was to put on a night where they could play whatever they liked, and invite whoever they liked to play whatever they liked. The only restriction was to make sure that people danced. Or nodded. Or stood in the corner looking bored. Or left after 10 minutes cos they hated it so much. The point was to get a reaction; everyone would have something to say. POSTERSWe designed a series of double sided A3 posters to promote the night. They are based on the idea of seeing technology as a positive aspect to human life and embracing it in a constructive way, in the same way as electronic music still touches the human soul. We also came up with the idea of inventing our own special snorkel that could be used out of water and would filter out all the toxic elements that exist in today's world. They were printed on GF Smith Colourplan Zen 150 gsm paper. This is the first one.
Unfortunately we didn't have the time to get our special snorkels surgically implanted so these t-shirts were the closest that we could get.
We came up with a series of lower cost flyers to be distributed more widely but in conjunction with the posters. This flyer is based on the tongue in cheek idea of Snorkel evolving into a revolutionary new musical religion, to aid the evolution of the "new breed" human race. |
